Pick Up Crushed Between Two Big Rigs

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WPMI) — Mississippi highway patrol is working two accidents on I-10 eastbound in Jackson county Mississippi. The first accident involved 3 18-wheelers near the 75 mile marker. The 2nd accident involved 2 18-wheelers a pick-up truck and 2 passenger vehicles. That accident happened near exit 68.

The driver of the pick-up was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jackson county’s Emergency Services Director Earl Etheridge says 2 of the 18-wheelers involved in the most recent accident are leaking diesel fuel. One lane of eastbound I-10 traffic remains open in the area.

The clean-up is expected to last several hours.
